"I'm trapped in misery with no escape except divorce—staying is slow death."
How it sounds in your head: You're 46. You could have fifteen good years left with someone who actually appreciates you. Instead you're sentenced to life with someone who makes you feel small. Your friends who divorced seem happier. Freedom looks like the only oxygen left.
"He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me."
-- Psalm 18:19World's false gospel of 'you deserve happiness' making covenant sound like prison instead of protection.
You wake up dreading the day. Your chest tightens when her car pulls in the driveway. You fantasize about the apartment you'd rent, the peace you'd have. Staying feels like self-betrayal.
Israel stood trapped between Egyptian army and Red Sea—escape looked impossible, death felt certain. Moses said 'Stand still and see the salvation of the LORD.' God didn't provide escape FROM the situation but THROUGH it—the same waters that threatened them DROWNED their enemies.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm trapped with divorce as my only oxygen. IT IS WRITTEN that He brings me into a BROAD PLACE—there is spaciousness and LIFE within my covenant, not just outside it. The same God who parted the Red Sea when Israel was trapped creates INSTANT BREAKTHROUGH through impossible situations. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give abundant LIFE—and that abundance manifests IN my marriage, not in abandoning it. I am Abraham's seed—the BARAK blessing means I am blessed coming in and going out WITHIN my covenant. I declare: the enemy at my back and the sea in front are about to become my greatest testimony as God parts what looks impassable.
The Father sees your suffocation and isn't saying 'endure'—He's saying 'watch Me part this sea RIGHT NOW.' The breakthrough isn't on the other side of divorce; it's on the other side of one more day of believing, and that day is TODAY.
