"I'm too tired to do anything God's calling me to—exhaustion has disqualified me."
How it sounds in your head: I feel Him stirring dreams in me, but I can barely get through the day. How can I start something new when I'm running on empty? Maybe this was for a younger version of me. Now I'm just too tired.
"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
-- Isaiah 40:31Religious lie that ministry/calling requires human strength and energy, rather than His strength perfected in weakness.
Decades of caregiving, work, and pouring out have genuinely depleted her reserves. The gap between the vision she senses and her current energy level feels insurmountable. Younger women seem to have what she lacks.
Moses was 80 years old, tending sheep in the wilderness after 40 years of exile and failure, when God called him to the greatest assignment of his life. God didn't wait for Moses to feel young and energetic—the burning bush came in his exhaustion and old age.
I REFUSE the lie that exhaustion disqualifies me from calling—IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 40:31 that those who WAIT on the Lord shall RENEW their strength, not generate it from empty reserves. Moses was 80, exiled, and done when the burning bush appeared—God's greatest assignments come in our weariness, not our strength. I am NOT too tired for what He's prepared. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint—this is PROMISE, not performance requirement. The BARAK blessing flows to me as Abraham's seed—the same favor that made 90-year-old Sarah give birth makes me fruitful NOW, regardless of natural energy. My weariness is the PERFECT place for His strength to be perfected.
The Father isn't waiting for you to get a good night's sleep before releasing your calling—He's famous for burning bushes in the wilderness, for choosing the exhausted and 'too old.' Like Moses at 80 starting his greatest work, your weariness is no obstacle to His purpose, only the backdrop for His strength.
