"I'm too old and broken for God to give me mental peace now - I missed my window."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe if I'd dealt with this at forty or sixty, God could have healed my mind. But ninety-plus with dementia setting in? Too late. You can't teach an old dog new tricks, and God can't rewire a ninety-year-old brain.
"God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?"
-- Numbers 23:19The enemy uses age and physical decline to create hopelessness, convincing her that breakthrough has an expiration date.
Her body is failing in every measurable way. Medical science says her brain is deteriorating. It feels logical that mental healing is off the table when everything else is shutting down.
At one hundred years old, body 'as good as dead,' Sarah's womb dead - impossible circumstances medically. He 'did not waver through unbelief' but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 'being fully persuaded that what He had promised He was able to perform.' Age didn't limit God's promise; Isaac was born.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too old for mental peace. IT IS WRITTEN that God is not a man that He should lie - if He promised peace, age doesn't void it. Abraham was one hundred with a dead body when God gave him Isaac. Moses was eighty when his REAL calling started. Caleb was eighty-five and said 'Give me THIS mountain.' IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 46:4 - 'Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you!' My age doesn't limit His power. I am BARAK-blessed at ninety-plus, and that blessing includes PEACE that surpasses understanding - Phil 4:7.
Your Father sees your age and doesn't think 'too late.' He thinks 'Watch what I do NOW.' He specializes in last-minute, eleventh-hour, deathbed miracles. He's not bound by your body's timeline - He's about to give you peace in your final season that you've never known, just to show that He's NEVER too late.
