"I'm too old and broken for anyone to pursue me; love is for the young and whole."
How it sounds in your head: You're 68 with a body that hurts, prescriptions that pile up, and a past that's complicated. Nobody pursues men like you. Love is for people with potential, not maintenance. You had your chance decades ago.
"Do not cast me off in the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails."
-- Psalm 71:9Enemy using age-discrimination and body-shame to suggest God's love has expiration dates and prerequisites; worldly attraction confused with Father's pursuit.
Every commercial, movie, and song celebrates young love. Your body IS breaking down. Energy IS limited. The math seems obvious: you're past the season of being pursued.
God appeared to 99-year-old Abraham—decades past prime, body 'as good as dead'—and established an EVERLASTING covenant, promised impossible blessing, changed his name to 'father of nations.' Pursuit intensified with age. The major covenant came when he was almost 100, not 30.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too old for extravagant love. IT IS WRITTEN: God does NOT cast off in old age or forsake when strength fails. My Father isn't less interested in me at 68; He's pursuing me with EVERLASTING love that predates my birth and outlasts my body. I am Abraham's seed—and God pursued ABRAHAM at 99, established covenant when his body was dead. The BARAK blessing is mine through Christ, regardless of age, health, or 'potential.' IT IS WRITTEN: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, beloved at 68 exactly as much as at 28. My Father is RUNNING toward me NOW, grey hair and all, calling me BELOVED SON, throwing a party over me while my joints ache. I receive His pursuit THIS MOMENT.
God's most extravagant covenant with Abraham came at 99, not 29. Your Father doesn't love you less now that you're slow and tired—He's MORE tender with you, MORE patient, MORE present. He's running toward you NOW, not waiting for you to be young again.
