"I'm too hyper and energetic—I should be calm and still like the good kids."
How it sounds in your head: I can't sit still in class. I'm always bouncing my leg, fidgeting, wanting to move. Teachers get frustrated with me. Other kids seem to handle being still just fine. Maybe my energy is a problem God needs to fix.
"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
-- Psalm 139:13-14Educational systems designed for compliance not design; labels like ADHD used as condemnation rather than understanding unique wiring.
He gets in trouble for the same behaviors other kids don't struggle with. He sees 'calm' kids getting praise while he gets corrected. His body NEEDS movement but the world demands stillness.
While his calm brothers stood still for the prophet, David was out running fields with sheep—too energetic to sit around the house. God bypassed all the 'good, still' brothers and chose the RUNNING BOY to be king. Samuel anointed him immediately, and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David FROM THAT DAY FORWARD.
I REFUSE the lie that my energy is too much. IT IS WRITTEN that God formed my inward parts and I am FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE—including my need to move, to run, to expend energy. My body is not broken; it's DESIGNED. IT IS WRITTEN that before I was in the womb, God knew me—He PLANNED this energy for a PURPOSE. I am blessed with strength, blessed with vigor, blessed with the energy to accomplish great things. The BARAK blessing is on my movement, on my activity, on every fidget and bounce.
The Father is running toward you saying, 'I gave you that energy to DO MIGHTY THINGS—I didn't design you for a desk, I designed you to RUN with purpose!' He's not waiting for you to calm down; He's cheering your MOTION.
