"I'm too drained to pursue God. I barely have energy for work and family."
How it sounds in your head: Prayer feels like one more thing on the list. Bible reading becomes a chore. Church is exhausting. You used to have passion for God, but now you're just surviving. You feel guilty for not pursuing Him like you 'should,' but you literally have nothing left. Spiritual life feels like another expectation you're failing.
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
-- Isaiah 40:31Enemy strategy to make relationship with God feel like PERFORMANCE instead of the SOURCE of all energy.
When you're depleted, everything feels like effort—even things that should be life-giving. Religion has trained you to see God as one more demand instead of the supply for every demand. Your exhaustion makes connecting with God feel impossible instead of essential.
The disciples were exhausted, traumatized, hiding in fear after Jesus' crucifixion. Jesus told them to WAIT for the Holy Spirit. They didn't work up energy; they received it. Acts 2—instant supernatural empowerment to do what was impossible moments before.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too drained to pursue God. IT IS WRITTEN that those who wait on the Lord RENEW their strength. God is not another demand draining me; He's the SUPPLY refilling me. I don't come to Him FROM strength; I come to Him FOR strength. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 11:28 that Jesus gives rest to the weary. Every moment with Him RESTORES me; it doesn't deplete me. I receive supernatural renewal NOW as I simply abide in His presence, not perform for it.
The Father isn't waiting for you to have energy to come to Him—He's the source of energy waiting to fill you NOW. Right now, in your exhaustion, His presence is renewing strength you didn't know was available, simply because you're His.
