"I'm too different. People don't understand me, so they keep their distance."
How it sounds in your head: My interests, my personality, the way I think—it's all just off from what other guys connect over. I'm not wired like them. That makes me isolating to be around.
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
-- Psalm 139:14Enemy assignment to make your uniqueness feel like a curse instead of a design.
You've tried to explain yourself and seen eyes glaze over. Your passions don't match the crowd's. You've been called weird, intense, or too much.
Wore camel hair, ate locusts and wild honey, lived in the wilderness, and preached with intensity that made religious people uncomfortable. Yet multitudes from Jerusalem, Judea, and the Jordan region came to him—his uniqueness ATTRACTED the right people.
I REFUSE the lie that being different makes me unlovable. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made—my uniqueness is divine design. I am NOT too much or too strange. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:10 that all peoples will see that I am called by the name of the Lord—my identity in Christ makes me MAGNETIC to the right connections. The BARAK blessing turns my difference into distinction, and the right tribe is finding me NOW.
The Father didn't create you as a rough draft. You're not too much for the right people—you're EXACTLY what they've been looking for. He's bringing friends who will celebrate your uniqueness, not tolerate it.
