"I'm too creative and artistic—real boys should be into sports and action, not art."
How it sounds in your head: I like drawing, music, creating things. But guys are supposed to like football and roughhousing. When I talk about art, other boys tune out. Maybe my interests are too girly and God should have made me more 'normal guy.'
"And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship."
-- Exodus 31:3-5Toxic gender stereotypes that assign creativity to females and aggression to males; cultural mockery of male artists as less masculine.
His dad or coaches push him toward sports while his art feels dismissed. Other boys bond over games and competition while he'd rather create. Every 'that's for girls' comment makes him question his wiring.
God chose Bezalel by NAME to design the tabernacle—intricate, beautiful, artistic work that required gold-smithing, jewel-cutting, embroidery. God didn't pick a warrior; He picked an ARTIST and filled him with the Spirit INSTANTLY to create the place where God's glory would dwell, making beauty the CONTAINER for God's presence.
I REFUSE the lie that creativity is less masculine. IT IS WRITTEN that God filled Bezalel with the SPIRIT OF GOD to do ARTISTIC WORKS—the Holy Spirit anoints creativity. I am made in the image of the CREATOR, and making art is the image of God flowing through me. IT IS WRITTEN in Genesis 1:1 that 'In the beginning God CREATED'—creativity is the FIRST attribute of God revealed in Scripture. I am blessed in my art, blessed in my design, blessed in every creative impulse. The BARAK blessing flows through my hands to CREATE.
The Father is running to you saying, 'I gave you creativity because you reflect ME—the Master Artist who painted sunsets and designed galaxies!' He's not ashamed of your art; He's SHOWCASING it as His image in you.
