"I'm too close to death—even if God answered now, there's no time to enjoy it."
How it sounds in your head: What's the point of praying for healing, provision, or breakthrough when I'm 90? Even if it came, I'd have maybe a year to enjoy it. I missed the window.
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end."
-- Ecclesiastes 3:11Enemy using proximity to death to make present blessings seem pointless and God's timing seem wasteful.
Actuarial tables and physical decline make remaining time obviously short. Breakthrough feels futile when there's so little time left to experience it.
Caleb was 85 years old when he said, 'Give me this MOUNTAIN.' He asked for the hardest territory filled with GIANTS. God gave it to him and he CONQUERED it at 85. He didn't say 'I'm too old to enjoy the land'—he took the MOUNTAIN. Age didn't disqualify him from breakthrough or the strength to enjoy it.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too close to death for God's answer to matter. IT IS WRITTEN that He makes everything beautiful in ITS time—and His timing is perfect at 90, 95, or 100. Caleb took a MOUNTAIN at 85. Moses saw the Promised Land at 120. The thief got Paradise at death's door. IT IS WRITTEN that He's put eternity in my heart—this earthly life is just the BEGINNING of enjoying His goodness. The BARAK blessing doesn't expire at a certain age. Every moment of breakthrough is worth it, and eternity makes EVERY gift infinite.
The Father doesn't withhold gifts because you're 'too close to the end' to enjoy them. He's like the father who threw the FULL party for the prodigal even though he'd wasted years—every moment of celebration was WORTH IT. One day of His goodness at 90 is worth more than a lifetime without it, and eternity stretches before you.
