"I'm too awkward. Normal kids don't struggle like this socially."
How it sounds in your head: You say the wrong thing at the wrong time. You don't know where to put your hands. You laugh too loud or not at all. Other kids seem to have a manual you never got for how to be normal.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."
-- Jeremiah 1:5Enemy using developmental awkwardness (which is NORMAL at this age) as evidence of permanent social defectiveness.
You ARE awkward—your body is changing, your brain is rewiring, nothing feels natural. You compare your inside mess to everyone else's outside performance and assume you're uniquely broken.
Moses told God he was 'slow of speech and slow of tongue'—a stutterer, socially awkward. God's response wasn't 'get speech therapy first.' It was 'I will BE with your mouth and TEACH you what to say.' God used the stutterer to confront Pharaoh and lead millions.
I REFUSE the lie that awkwardness disqualifies me from love. IT IS WRITTEN that before I was born, God knew me, sanctified me, and ordained me. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 2:10 that I am His WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus for good works. I am Abraham's seed—the BARAK blessing was on Jacob even when he was awkwardly deceiving everyone. God doesn't wait for me to become socially smooth. Moses stuttered and led a nation. I am FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made, not defectively made. My Father celebrates my authenticity, not my performance.
The Father watches you stumble through conversations and doesn't cringe—He smiles because He sees courage, not failure. He's not waiting for you to become someone else. He's delighting in who you ARE, growing pains and all.
