"I'm past my physical peak and should just accept a less capable body from here on out."
How it sounds in your head: I used to be stronger, faster, more flexible. Those days are over. I'm in my thirties now—it's all maintenance and damage control from here. I'll never be as physically capable as I was at 25. That ship has sailed.
"But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day."
-- Proverbs 4:18Enemy using athletic/physical peak narratives to establish 'best days behind you' mentality and steal expectation for increase.
Professional athletes peak in their twenties. Her body doesn't respond like it used to. Recovery takes longer. The fitness industry worships youth. Every narrative says 30+ is about preservation, not progression.
Joshua led Israel in battle and conquest well into his old age, taking fortified cities and defeating enemies when he was elderly. While others were retiring, he was conquering—his military capacity and strategic brilliance increased with age, not decreased.
I REFUSE the lie that my physical peak is behind me or that my body must decline from this point. IT IS WRITTEN that the path of the just shines ever brighter—I am moving from glory to glory, strength to strength. My body is not cursed to deteriorate; it is blessed to increase. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that I am being transformed from glory to glory by the Spirit—this includes my physical capacity. Joshua conquered cities in his old age; Caleb took his mountain at 85. I reject cultural narratives about physical peaks and receive supernatural strength that increases with time. My best years are ahead of me, not behind me.
The Father isn't nostalgic for your twenties—He's excited about what He's doing now. He's running toward you with fresh strength and new capacity, celebrating the greater things ahead while you're still mourning what you think you've lost.
