"I'm not like the guys who have their finances together. I'm just bad at this stuff."
How it sounds in your head: Other guys my age have investment accounts, emergency funds, credit scores above 750. They talk about IRAs and I don't even have a savings account. I'm just not wired for financial success. Some people have the gift, I don't.
"And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
-- Deuteronomy 8:18Enemy comparison plus world's meritocracy teaching that financial success is a personality trait or gift.
He sees peers who seem naturally disciplined and savvy with money while he struggles with basics. The comparison makes it feel like a fixed personality deficit rather than a learnable skill or covenant blessing.
Planted crops during a famine (seemingly foolish timing), made the same lying mistake his father did, was passive and conflict-avoidant. Reaped a hundredfold that same year, became so wealthy with flocks, herds, and servants that the king asked him to leave because he was too prosperous.
I REFUSE the lie that I lack the gift or wiring for financial success. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives ME power to get wealth to establish HIS covenant—not my personality, HIS POWER. Isaac was passive and made the same mistakes as his father, yet reaped a hundredfold in a famine because of covenant. I am not blessed based on financial IQ—I am blessed because I am ABRAHAM'S SEED through Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in my storehouses and everything I set my hand to. The BARAK makes me prosperous regardless of my natural abilities. Supernatural increase is mine NOW because I'm connected to the Vine, and the Vine produces fruit automatically.
Your Father isn't comparing your financial IQ to your peers and shaking His head. He's giving you power to get wealth based on COVENANT, not competence, making you prosper in ways that have nothing to do with your natural wiring.
