"I'm losing this battle because I keep falling into the same sins over and over."
How it sounds in your head: I confess the same stuff every week - anger, lying, bad thoughts. If I were really winning, I'd stop by now. The fact that I keep doing it proves I'm losing ground and the enemy has me trapped in a cycle.
"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
-- Romans 8:37Source: Religious trap equating ongoing struggle with losing the war, making his POSITION in Christ dependent on his daily PERFORMANCE, which denies Romans 8:1.
The sins DO repeat, and religion taught him that victory looks like sinless perfection. Every repeat feels like evidence he's sliding backward, not understanding he's ALREADY seated in heavenly places regardless of the fight on the ground.
Samson broke his vow, slept with a prostitute, got his eyes gouged out, and lost everything through repeated failure. Yet in his FINAL prayer - still blind, still captured - God gave him INSTANT strength to kill more enemies in his death than his entire life, proving God's calling isn't revoked by repeated failure.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm losing because I keep struggling. IT IS WRITTEN that in ALL these things I am MORE than a conqueror through Christ who loved me. My struggles don't define my position - HIS victory does. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for me in Christ Jesus. Even when Samson failed REPEATEDLY, God answered his final prayer with INSTANT strength. The BARAK blessing covered Judah who slept with his daughter-in-law thinking she was a prostitute - STILL blessed, STILL in Messiah's line. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, not by my performance but by HIS GIFT.
Your Father doesn't see you as 'losing' when you struggle - He sees you seated with Christ in VICTORY right now, and runs toward you with the robe of righteousness every single time you fall. Like Samson still blind and captured, one cry to your Father brings INSTANT strength, no cleanup required first.
