"I'm just faking it until someone finds out I don't actually know what I'm doing."
How it sounds in your head: Every meeting feels like I'm one question away from being exposed. I got this position by luck, not skill. When they realize I'm not as competent as they think, it's over.
"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God."
-- 2 Corinthians 3:5Enemy accusation combined with performance-based identity from career culture that says your worth equals your expertise.
You've seen others who seem more confident, more knowledgeable, and you compare your internal chaos to their external calm. Every success feels like you just barely pulled it off, and the next challenge will be the one that reveals the truth.
Moses said 'I'm not eloquent, I'm slow of speech'—he felt like a fraud leading Israel. God's response wasn't 'get better at speaking' but 'I WILL BE with your mouth.' Moses led by GOD'S sufficiency, not his own, and delivered a nation.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a fraud waiting to be exposed. IT IS WRITTEN that my sufficiency is from God, not from myself. I am a branch connected to the Vine, and HIS competence flows through me. IT IS WRITTEN that if God is for me, who can be against me—and He placed me here ON PURPOSE. I am not faking it; I am WALKING IN THE BARAK BLESSING where I am the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. My identity is not my performance—it's Christ IN me, the hope of glory. I am equipped, anointed, and divinely positioned by a Father who runs toward me, not away from me.
The Father isn't waiting for you to 'get good enough' to deserve your position—He ALREADY made you competent through Christ. Like the prodigal who got the robe and ring while still smelling like pigs, you receive authority and identity BEFORE proving yourself worthy.
