"I'm dying without seeing them restored; I failed to leave them whole."
How it sounds in your head: I'm running out of time. They're still struggling—financially, emotionally, relationally, spiritually. A good mother leaves her children stable and secure. I'm leaving them broken, and I won't be here to help them anymore.
"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
-- Philippians 1:6Performance-based lie that a mother's success is measured by children's current circumstances at time of her death.
Death feels like a deadline, and their current struggles look like permanent states. She believes her leaving solidifies their brokenness.
Abraham died before seeing the promises fully fulfilled—he never saw the great nation, never possessed all the land, never saw his descendants as numerous as stars. He died with Isaac as his only heir through Sarah. Yet Hebrews 11:13 says he died IN FAITH, and God fulfilled everything anyway. Promises don't die when the promise-holder does.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm failing because I'm dying before my children are 'fixed.' IT IS WRITTEN that God who BEGAN a good work in them will COMPLETE it—and His completion doesn't require my survival to supervise. I am releasing my children into the Father's hands with FULL CONFIDENCE that their breakthrough is coming—instant, complete, miraculous. The BARAK blessing doesn't expire when I do; it operates by COVENANT and covers my seed's seed for a thousand generations. IT IS WRITTEN that the prayer of a righteous person avails MUCH, and I am righteous by the blood of Jesus—so every prayer I've prayed over them is still working, still active, still producing fruit. They are NOT broken; they are IN PROCESS. And I'm leaving them with the best parent possible.
The Father is whispering: 'Well done, good and faithful servant. I've got them from here.' You're not abandoning them—you're releasing them to the One who never sleeps, never dies, and never stops working on their behalf.
