"I'm constantly under attack because I'm not spiritually strong enough to resist the devil."
How it sounds in your head: Other guys seem to have it together spiritually, but I'm always fighting. If I was stronger in faith, prayed more, or had better disciplines, the attacks would stop. My weakness invites the enemy.
"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
-- James 4:7Source: religious teaching that spiritual strength comes from human effort and consistent disciplines rather than positional authority in Christ.
The frequency of spiritual resistance feels like evidence of weakness, and comparing yourself to others who seem untroubled confirms the inadequacy. The battle intensity suggests something is wrong with you.
Seven sons tried to cast out demons using Jesus' name without relationship with Him, and the demon beat them up. But Paul, who called himself chief of sinners, cast out demons with a WORD because he was IN CHRIST.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm under attack because I'm spiritually weak. IT IS WRITTEN that when I resist the devil, HE FLEES from me - not because of my strength but because of Christ IN me. The battle isn't evidence of weakness; it's evidence the enemy fears what God is doing in my life. IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 10:19 that Jesus has given me authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over ALL the power of the enemy. My authority isn't earned through spiritual disciplines - it's GIVEN through my position in Christ. The BARAK blessing that protected Jacob the deceiver and Judah the immoral protects ME, not because I'm strong but because I'm COVERED.
The Father doesn't measure your spiritual strength by how few attacks you face - He measures it by whose you ARE. You're under attack because you're dangerous to darkness, not because you're weak.
