"I'm being tested to see if I'll stay faithful without the blessing I want."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this is like Job—God's allowing your suffering to prove your devotion. Maybe if you worship Him through the pain without 'needing' the baby, then you'll pass the test and He'll reward your faithfulness. Until then, you have to endure without complaint.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Old Covenant testing theology mixed with performance-based approval, making God into a distant examiner instead of a loving Father.
The Bible does talk about testing, and your pain feels purposeful when framed as a divine exam. It gives meaning to suffering and provides a formula: endure well, get breakthrough.
The son didn't have to prove reformation or complete a probation period. While he was still far off, the father SAW him and had compassion, RAN to him, fell on his neck, kissed him, and restored him fully before he could finish his repentance speech. No test, only love.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm in a divine test to earn blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that every good gift comes from the Father who doesn't change like shifting shadows. God isn't withholding to measure my faithfulness—He already gave me Jesus, which proves His delight. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation for those in Christ. I don't have to earn what Jesus already purchased. I am righteous by gift, not by endurance. The BARAK blessing isn't a reward for perfect patience—it's a covenant promise activated by grace. I am Abraham's seed, and God swore by Himself to bless me. My fertility isn't dependent on passing tests.
The Father isn't standing back with a clipboard grading your response to barrenness. He's running toward you with the robe, the ring, and the party, because you're a daughter, not a defendant, and His gifts flow from relationship, not evaluation.
