"I'm a burden to everyone—people only tolerate me out of obligation."
How it sounds in your head: Your parents seem stressed when you need something. Friends sigh when you're going through stuff again. You apologize for existing because you can feel that you're too much, too needy, too heavy.
"The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
-- Zephaniah 3:17Enemy twisting normal teenage needs into evidence of being a burden during a stage when identity is forming.
You see the exhaustion on their faces. You hear the edge in their voice. If you were less work, less emotional, less... you... everyone would be happier.
Crowd told him to be QUIET, stop bothering Jesus, you're being too much. He cried out LOUDER. Jesus didn't say 'ugh, fine'—He STOPPED, called for him, and IMMEDIATELY healed him. His persistence wasn't a burden; it was FAITH.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord rejoices over me with gladness and singing. I am not too much, too needy, or too heavy—I am LOVED. My needs are not inconveniences to God; they are OPPORTUNITIES for Him to show His goodness. IT IS WRITTEN that I can cast all my care on Him because He cares for me. People's capacity may run out, but His NEVER does. I carry the BARAK blessing—I am blessed coming in and going out, and my PRESENCE brings blessing, not burden. I declare I am DELIGHTED IN, CELEBRATED, and WANTED because I am a daughter of the King who RUNS toward me, not away from me.
The Father isn't tolerating you—He's throwing a party over you. Every need you bring Him is a chance for Him to show you He's a GOOD Father who never runs out of love.
