"I'll never make more money than my parents did."
How it sounds in your head: My dad worked his whole life and never broke $50K. Who am I to think I could make six figures? That's for people with different backgrounds, different education, different everything. I'm reaching for something that's not for people like me.
"And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you."
-- Deuteronomy 28:11Enemy assignment to cap financial potential based on parental ceiling rather than covenant promise.
She has her parents' work ethic but not their results—and their results were limited. Asking for a raise feels presumptuous. Dreaming bigger feels delusional. The salary cap feels genetic.
Isaac planted crops during a FAMINE (worst possible conditions—everyone else was starving). That same year he reaped a hundredfold, became VERY wealthy, and continued to grow until he was EXTREMELY wealthy and the Philistines envied him—INSTANT multiplication that defied natural circumstances and family history.
I REFUSE the lie that my parents' income ceiling is my cap. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord will grant me PLENTY—not barely enough, PLENTY. I am under the BARAK blessing that made Abraham very rich, that gave Isaac a hundredfold return in a FAMINE year. My salary isn't limited by my family's history—it's empowered by my HEAVENLY Father's resources. IT IS WRITTEN that I'm blessed in my storehouses and everything I set my hand to (Deuteronomy 28:8). I'm not reaching beyond my station—I'm reaching INTO my covenant. The Father isn't offended by my ambition—He's the ONE who gave me the dream.
The Father doesn't say, 'Stay at your parents' level.' He says, 'I'm doing a NEW thing—watch me surprise you with increase you didn't strategize or earn.' He's already releasing the hundredfold.
