"I'll never have a best friend who actually chooses me first."
How it sounds in your head: You see those pairs who are obviously each other's person—they match energy, finish sentences, choose each other without hesitation. You've never been anyone's first choice like that, and you're starting to think you never will be.
"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you."
-- John 15:16Enemy lie targeting your identity as chosen and beloved, trying to make you believe you're perpetually second-string in everyone's life.
You've been the third wheel, the group friend never the best friend, the one who texts first but isn't texted. Everyone else seems to have THAT person, and you're just collecting acquaintances while watching real bonds happen around you.
Matthew was a hated tax collector, the LAST person anyone would choose for their inner circle, sitting in his booth convinced he was unworthy. Jesus walked directly to him and said 'FOLLOW ME'—INSTANT choosing, first-choice invitation, no hesitation.
I REFUSE the lie that I'll never be anyone's first choice or best friend. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus CHOSE me—I was picked FIRST, wanted deliberately, selected specifically by the King. I am NOT perpetually second-string, NOT the backup friend, NOT forever on the sidelines. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Thessalonians 1:4 that I am BELOVED by God, CHOSEN—if I'm chosen by Him, He's assigning me friendships where I'm chosen by THEM. The BARAK blessing means I am blessed with covenant friendships, blessed with people who FIGHT to be my friend, blessed with best-friend-level loyalty. I receive divine connections where I'm somebody's FIRST call, FIRST choice, FIRST priority.
The Father is running toward you laughing at the lie that you're unchosen, because He CHOSE you before the foundation of the world and He's assigning you best friends who will choose you with the same intentionality. You're not collecting backups—you're about to meet YOUR person who's been praying for someone exactly like you.
