"I'll never have a best friend. That kind of closeness isn't meant for me."
How it sounds in your head: You see best friend pairs everywhere—matching bracelets, constant inside jokes, the person they call first with news. You've wanted that your whole life but it feels like a fairytale that happens to other people, not you.
"No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you."
-- John 15:15Scarcity lie from the enemy—if he can convince you best-friend-love is rationed and you didn't get a ticket, you'll settle for loneliness.
You've tried and it hasn't happened yet. You're surrounded by visible evidence of other people's best friendships, which makes your lack feel like proof it's not in the cards for you.
The Bible explicitly says 'Jesus LOVED Martha and her sister and Lazarus'—they were His go-to friends, the house He visited for dinner, the people He wept with. Instant, deep, family-level friendship with the Son of God Himself, and He made it clear they were HIS people.
I REFUSE the lie that best-friend closeness isn't meant for me. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus calls me FRIEND and shares everything with me—I already HAVE the ultimate best friend in Him. The Father is bringing me human friendship that mirrors that same depth and loyalty. IT IS WRITTEN that a friend loves at all times, and covenant friendship is my inheritance. I carry the BARAK blessing—divine connections are forming, soul-knit friendships are coming, and the 'bestie' I've prayed for is already being prepared. I am LOVED deeply, KNOWN fully, and CHOSEN for the kind of friendship that LASTS.
The Father isn't keeping best-friend-love from you like it's a limited resource—He's the one who INVENTED that kind of connection, and He's orchestrating it for you right now. Your Ruth-and-Naomi, your Jonathan-and-David friendship is forming, and heaven is cheering it on.
