"I'll never find someone who wants me for me and not just my body"
How it sounds in your head: Boys stare at your chest or your legs and you wonder if that's all they'll ever see. You're developing faster than your friends and the attention feels dirty, not honoring. You wonder if a godly guy exists who will see your heart first.
"But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'"
-- 1 Samuel 16:7World's sexualization of female bodies teaching girls their worth is physical
The boys at school make comments. Guys at church sneak looks. Even adult men sometimes stare. You feel reduced to body parts instead of seen as a whole person worth knowing.
Esther was beautiful and could have been chosen for her body alone, but she obtained FAVOR in the sight of all who saw her. The king loved Esther more than all the women - not just wanted her, but LOVED her - setting the royal crown on her head.
I REFUSE the lie that my body is all anyone will value. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord looks at the HEART, and He is raising a man trained to see with His eyes. The BARAK blessing doesn't attract lust - it attracts COVENANT love that honors all of me. Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her, and the king LOVED her above all - not just wanted her. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made - spirit, soul, AND body - and the right one will treasure all three. I am not a body with a soul attached. I am a DAUGHTER with a royal crown coming.
The Father is running toward you with eyes that see your HEART first, and He's training a son to see you the same way. He's not ashamed of your developing body - He MADE it - and He's preparing someone who will honor it as the temple it is while cherishing the woman inside.
