"I'll never afford a house or build wealth like my parents did because everything costs more now."
How it sounds in your head: My parents bought a house at 25 on one income. I'm almost 30, have a degree, work full time, and can barely afford rent. The economy, housing market, inflation—everything I was told to do isn't working. I'm doing everything 'right' and getting further behind while they built generational wealth I'll never achieve.
"The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts. The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace."
-- Haggai 2:8-9The world system uses comparison to past generations to convince you that economic timing determines your financial destiny.
The math is real—median home prices versus wages, student debt her parents didn't have, cost of living increases. Charts, articles, economic analysis all confirm her generation got a raw deal. The evidence feels irrefutable.
God told him to leave everything he knew—his country, his family, his father's house—with NO PLAN, no map, just 'Go to a land I will show you.' He obeyed into complete economic uncertainty, and Genesis 13:2 says 'Abram was VERY RICH in livestock, in silver, and in gold.' He became wealthy in a foreign land with no family business, no inheritance, no 'good economy' to leverage—just covenant.
I REFUSE the lie that my generation's economy limits my Father's provision. IT IS WRITTEN that the silver is HIS and the gold is HIS, and the glory of the LATTER shall be GREATER than the former. I am not subject to market conditions—I'm subject to COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives me POWER to get wealth to establish His covenant, and that power doesn't fluctuate with interest rates. Abraham left everything into complete uncertainty and became VERY RICH in a foreign land. Joseph went from prison to second-in-command in ONE DAY and managed the wealth of a nation. The widow with two coins gave everything and Jesus said she gave MORE than the rich—in God's economy, her 'nothing' outweighed their abundance. I am not limited by my generation's economy. I'm empowered by an UNLIMITED GOD who OWNS IT ALL.
Your Father isn't wringing His hands about inflation and housing markets. He's the God who made Abraham rich in a foreign land with zero advantages, who made Joseph wealthy in a prison economy, who multiplied five loaves when there was NO FOOD. Your economic 'disadvantage' is His opportunity to show He's bigger than systems.
