"I'll be a financial burden to my family because I can't work."
How it sounds in your head: They're going to have to take care of me now. I'll drain their resources when they have their own lives. I'll be a weight around their necks. I should have planned better, saved more, been wiser.
"A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families."
-- Psalm 68:5-6Enemy attack using fear of being unwanted burden; world's lie that worth equals financial independence.
She's watching her children's faces as they calculate care costs. She feels the shift from provider to dependent and hates it.
The Shunammite woman's son died suddenly. She ran to Elisha, who came and raised the boy from the DEAD—INSTANT resurrection in her home. Her faithfulness to provide for the prophet brought resurrection power to her household.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a financial burden to my family. IT IS WRITTEN that God is a defender of widows and sets the solitary in families—this is HIS DESIGN, not a mistake. My provision comes from HIM, not from draining others. He supplies ALL my needs according to HIS RICHES, not according to my bank account. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:12, 'The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.' The BARAK blessing is on me—provision flows TO me and THROUGH me. God can multiply resources in my family's hands like He did for the widow's oil. I am BLESSED, not a burden.
Your Father doesn't see you as a drain—He sees you as His BELOVED daughter coming home. He's preparing the feast, not calculating the cost. The prodigal was BROKE, but the Father threw a PARTY. That's your Father's heart toward you.
