"I'll be a financial burden to my children in my final years"
How it sounds in your head: I see the medical costs, the care expenses, the reality of aging. I'll drain my kids financially just when they're finally getting ahead. I'll be an obligation, not a blessing.
"They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:14World says elderly are burdens, but Scripture says they are CROWNS and BLESSED
Healthcare costs are staggering. Long-term care can bankrupt families. The statistics on elder care expenses are terrifying and every friend's story confirms the worst.
At 85 YEARS OLD, Caleb said 'I am as strong today as I was forty years ago - now give me this mountain!' He didn't ask for easy retirement or assistance. He conquered territory and received inheritance at 85, still PRODUCING, not draining.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a financial burden! IT IS WRITTEN: I shall still bear FRUIT in old age - I shall be FRESH and FLOURISHING! I am not a drain, I am a BLESSING! The BARAK blessing on my life flows TO my children, not FROM them! IT IS WRITTEN: The righteous are blessed and their children after them! Caleb conquered mountains at 85! I don't diminish with age - God's promises INCREASE! My latter days are greater than my former! I am a CROWN to my family, not a burden!
The Father doesn't see you as a financial drain in your final years - He sees you as a fruit-bearing tree still FLOURISHING. Your value isn't in your productivity; it's in your IDENTITY as His beloved. He doesn't run out of provision for you any more than He runs out of love.
