"If people knew what I actually think and struggle with, they'd reject me."
How it sounds in your head: You've got the version of you that people can handle, and the real you that you have to hide. The real you is too much - too dark, too confused, too messed up.
"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."
-- 1 John 1:7Shame assignment from enemy to keep authenticity locked away and prevent breakthrough.
You've edited yourself so long that you don't even know what unfiltered honesty would look like. The mask feels safer than the risk of rejection.
Jesus told this woman EVERYTHING she ever did - five marriages, current live-in boyfriend, all her shame exposed. Instead of rejection, she got LIVING WATER and became the first evangelist to her entire city - instant transformation from hiding to proclaiming.
I REFUSE the lie that the real me is too much. IT IS WRITTEN that when I walk in the light, I have fellowship - not rejection, FELLOWSHIP. My authenticity is not a liability; it's the doorway to real connection. The blood of Jesus cleanses me from ALL sin - there is NOTHING in me too dark for His love. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 - NO condemnation. I receive the BARAK blessing - even Abraham's lies were covered by covenant. I am SAFE to be fully known because I am fully loved.
The Father knows EVERYTHING you think and struggle with and is running toward you with open arms, not waiting for you to sanitize yourself. He's bringing people who will love the real you, not your performance.
