"If I'm ever rich I'll probably turn into a bad person like I see on TV."
How it sounds in your head: You see rich people portrayed as greedy, mean, selfish villains in shows and movies. You hear 'money is the root of all evil' and stories about how wealth ruins people. Maybe staying poor is actually staying good. You're scared that success might corrupt who you are.
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
-- 1 Timothy 6:10Source: Religion misquoting Scripture and world system demonizing wealth to keep you locked in poverty.
Media constantly shows rich people as villains and you hear church people criticize wealth while being broke themselves. The enemy uses twisted theology and cultural messaging to make you fear the very blessing God wants to give you.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold'—extremely wealthy by God's blessing—and he's called the father of faith and God's friend. His massive wealth didn't corrupt him; it funded God's covenant purposes and demonstrated Heaven's blessing to pagan nations.
I REFUSE the lie that wealth will corrupt me. IT IS WRITTEN that the LOVE of money is evil, not money itself—and I'm rooted in the Vine, incapable of producing bad fruit. God GIVES power to get wealth to establish His covenant, and Abraham, Isaac, and Solomon were extraordinarily wealthy men of faith. I am blessed to be a blessing, and wealth in my hands funds Kingdom purposes. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 10:22 'The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.' The BARAK blessing includes material abundance that flows FROM righteousness, not away from it, and I receive it RIGHT NOW without fear.
The Father isn't afraid to bless you financially because He knows your identity—you're a branch attached to Jesus, and branches don't suddenly produce poison fruit when they get more nutrients. Like Abraham who got richer and stayed faithful, your wealth will amplify the goodness already IN you by the Holy Spirit.
