"If I was really wanted, my dad wouldn't have left."
How it sounds in your head: He walked away. Not just from your mom—from YOU. If you were truly valuable, truly wanted, truly worth staying for, he would have stayed. His absence is the proof written into every Father's Day, every empty seat at your events, every time you wrote 'father unknown' on forms. His leaving feels like the final verdict on your worth.
"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me."
-- Psalm 27:10Enemy using human father's abandonment as evidence of Heavenly Father's rejection, making his failure define her value.
She's in her forties now, maybe watching her own children's father stay or leave. She knows what it takes for a man to stay—and concludes she wasn't worth that effort. The wound has calcified into identity over decades.
Born to a prostitute, rejected by his half-brothers who drove him away saying 'you shall have no inheritance in our father's house, for you are the son of another woman.' Abandoned and outcast. But the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and God used him to deliver Israel—the rejected son became the chosen judge.
I REFUSE the lie that my earthly father's abandonment defines my worth or my Heavenly Father's love. IT IS WRITTEN that when father and mother forsake me, the LORD takes care of me. My dad's leaving revealed HIS brokenness, not my value. I was not un-wantable—he was unable. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed, heir of the BARAK blessing that doesn't depend on human fathers showing up. I am blessed coming in and going out because of COVENANT, not because of earthly family. I declare I am wanted, held, never forsaken by the Father who counts every hair on my head.
The moment your earthly father walked away, your Heavenly Father stepped in closer. He wasn't shocked or scrambling to figure out Plan B—He'd already prepared to be EVERYTHING you needed, and His presence in your life has been the PROOF that you were never, ever unwanted.
