"If I retire, I won't be able to tithe or support God's work anymore."
How it sounds in your head: You've been faithful in giving for decades, but retirement means fixed income. How can you keep tithing on less? You'll have to tell the missionary you can't support them anymore. God's work will suffer because you stopped producing.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Religion teaching that God's kingdom depends on YOUR earning capacity instead of HIS supply.
The math is simple—less income means less to give. You've seen retirees drop out of ministry support, and you don't want to be that person who becomes a taker instead of a giver.
Had almost nothing—just two small copper coins, her last money. She gave everything she had, and Jesus said she gave MORE than all the wealthy people combined because it was sacrificial.
I REFUSE the lie that retirement reduces my ability to give. IT IS WRITTEN: God makes ALL grace abound toward me so I ALWAYS have ALL sufficiency for EVERY good work—not just when I'm employed. The BARAK blessing flows regardless of my job status. I am blessed to be a blessing, and that blessing doesn't retire when I do. IT IS WRITTEN: I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath—and that includes having abundance for every good work in every season. God supplies seed to the SOWER, not just the EARNER.
The Father is delighted that you want to give, and He's not worried about funding His kingdom through your fixed income. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and is running toward you with abundance specifically so you can continue in generosity.
