"If I had their inheritance or their spouse's income, I'd be fine too—they don't understand real struggle."
How it sounds in your head: Easy to be generous when you inherited money. Easy to relax when your husband had that pension. They act spiritual about money but they've never had to choose between medications and groceries. My struggle is different.
"Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need."
-- Philippians 4:11-12Enemy: Bitterness seed to isolate you from community and blind you to God's provision in your specific situation.
Their financial peace often came with advantages you didn't have. The struggle is real and dismissing it feels invalidating. Resentment feels justified.
During a famine he created by his own prophecy, God didn't send him to wealthy people with stocked pantries. He sent BIRDS to bring him bread and meat twice daily—supernatural provision that had nothing to do with human advantage or inheritance.
I REFUSE the lie that I need their advantages to experience God's provision. IT IS WRITTEN that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, in WHATEVER state I am. My supply comes from HIS riches in glory, not from inheritance or spouse's income. The BARAK blessing operated in famine and in plenty. IT IS WRITTEN that God commands the blessing on MY storehouse—He feeds ravens and He feeds me. I will not let comparison steal my gratitude or blind me to His faithfulness in my situation.
Father doesn't need their inheritance to fund your provision. While you're looking at their advantages, He's sending ravens with bread—provision that bypasses every human system and advantage you think you need.
