"If I had their financial freedom, I'd finally be able to serve God fully."
How it sounds in your head: Ministry, mission trips, generosity—all shelved because I'm paycheck to paycheck. Once money isn't the issue, then I can really live for God.
"For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have."
-- 2 Corinthians 8:12Future grace lie—makes obedience conditional on circumstances instead of covenant identity.
You watch them fund missions and quit jobs for ministry while you can't miss a shift. Money IS freedom to follow where He leads without financial fear.
Fisherman with family business and zero savings—Jesus said 'Follow Me' and Peter left nets IMMEDIATELY. No transition plan, no financial cushion—instant obedience from instability.
I REFUSE the lie that I need financial freedom before full obedience. IT IS WRITTEN: willingness is accepted by what I have NOW, not future abundance. Disciples left nets broke; Moses had a stick. IT IS WRITTEN: I can do ALL things through Christ—'all' includes THIS, TODAY. The barak blessing goes WITH me as I follow, not before I'm stable. My current resources are ENOUGH for my current assignment. God's not waiting for my 401k to fund His plans. I declare IMMEDIATE OBEDIENCE.
Your Father isn't holding assignments ransom until you're financially free—He's running with your commission while you're still counting costs. The call comes with the provision, not after.
