"If I had more faith, this would have worked by now."
How it sounds in your head: The guys who pray with authority get results. You must have secret doubt, hidden sin, insufficient belief. If you really trusted God, you'd have a kid by now. Your weak faith disqualifies the miracle.
"When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!'"
-- Matthew 8:10Religious performance teaching that makes healing dependent on the quality of human faith.
You DO have doubts. You HAVE questioned. Some days you believe, other days you're numb. You've watched faith healers on TV and wondered why your prayers don't work like that.
Father brought demon-possessed son to Jesus saying, 'IF You can do anything, have compassion.' Jesus said all things are possible to him who believes. Father cried out, 'I believe; help my unbelief!' Jesus healed the boy IMMEDIATELY—doubt and faith mixed didn't disqualify the miracle.
I REFUSE the lie that my miracle depends on perfect faith. IT IS WRITTEN that mustard-seed faith moves mountains—the SIZE doesn't matter. The boy's father said 'help my unbelief' and Jesus healed anyway. IT IS WRITTEN that healing flows from Jesus' compassion, not my faith performance. I am righteous by HIS faith, not mine. The Father doesn't grade my belief like a test—He responds to the smallest reach because He's GOOD. My doubt doesn't disqualify His promise.
The Father isn't withholding until you achieve perfect belief—He healed the boy whose father literally said 'help my unbelief' IMMEDIATELY. Your mixed-faith, doubt-filled reach is enough because HIS faithfulness is the foundation, not yours.
