"If I had more faith, my husband would still be alive"
How it sounds in your head: I've been a believer for decades. I should have had enough faith to pray him through. Other women's husbands survived—why not mine? My weak faith killed him.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Religion taught her healing depends on the strength of human faith instead of the finished work of the cross.
She's watched other women's husbands recover while hers didn't, and teachers said 'faith the size of a mustard seed moves mountains.' If faith moves mountains, why didn't it heal cancer?
While Jairus was still walking with Jesus, messengers came saying his daughter was already dead—don't bother the Teacher anymore. Jesus ignored the report, told him 'only believe,' and raised the girl immediately, proving death itself doesn't disqualify faith or limit God's power.
I REFUSE the lie that my faith performance determines God's movement. IT IS WRITTEN that a father with doubting, crying, weak faith still saw instant deliverance. My husband's journey was not a report card on my prayer life. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, covered by the BARAK blessing that protected even Abraham the liar and Jacob the deceiver. IT IS WRITTEN there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I stand in gifted righteousness, not graded faith. The Father ran to the prodigal before he cleaned up—He runs to me now.
The Father isn't grading your faith like a teacher with a red pen—He's running toward you as you grieve, holding you like the prodigal who blew everything. Your husband's timeline was in God's hands, never dependent on your faith percentage.
