"If I had made better choices earlier, everything would be different."
How it sounds in your head: You can trace every current problem back to specific bad decisions decades ago. Different choices then would mean different life now. You're living in the consequences of your failures and it's too late to change the outcome.
"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?"
-- Isaiah 43:18-19Enemy's causality trap - makes past decisions more powerful than present grace.
Cause and effect is real - decisions DO have consequences that compound over time. You can literally map current struggles to specific past choices.
Worst king in Judah's history - sacrificed his own sons to demons, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, led nation into abomination for 55 years. One prayer of repentance - God restored him and the kingdom prospered.
I REFUSE the lie that my past choices limit God's present power. IT IS WRITTEN that He does a NEW thing NOW, and I am not to remember former things. Every wrong choice was covered at the cross. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that I am a NEW creation - old things passed away, ALL things become new. Not 'will become' - BECOME. Present reality. The BARAK blessing wasn't voided by Abraham's lies or Jacob's deception. My inheritance is based on COVENANT, not choices. I receive the new thing God is doing NOW.
The Father isn't reviewing your decision history with a red pen - He's speaking NEW THING over every regret. He doesn't work with your past; He works with His present grace.
