"If I had been a better spiritual leader, my kids would still be walking with God."
How it sounds in your head: You didn't have family devotions consistently. You let them skip church sometimes. You didn't model faith perfectly—they saw you angry, distant, hypocritical. Now they're done with church and it's because you didn't lead them well enough. Better fathers raise kids who stay.
"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day."
-- John 6:44Performance-based Christianity that makes you the savior of your household instead of trusting Christ as Savior.
You can list specific failures: the seasons you were spiritually dry, the arguments they witnessed, the mission trip you didn't take them on. Other families who 'did it right' seem to have kids who stayed faithful, which means your family's outcome is the verdict on your leadership.
Isaac was the miracle son of promise, raised by Abraham who saw angels, yet his son Esau despised his birthright and married pagan women, breaking his parents' hearts. Even a heritage of encounter doesn't guarantee children's choices—but God's purposes still prevailed through the family line.
I REFUSE the lie that my imperfect leadership destroyed my children's faith. IT IS WRITTEN: 'No one can come to Me unless the FATHER draws him.' I am not their savior—Jesus is. My job was to point, not to be perfect. Every failure I had in leading them is covered by the blood. IT IS WRITTEN: 'He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ' (Philippians 1:6). God started a work in them before I ever did, and He will finish it. The BARAK blessing over my household means they are SEED OF ABRAHAM, and 'all your children shall be taught by the LORD' (Isaiah 54:13). Their return is certain because HIS faithfulness is certain.
The Father isn't waiting for you to have been a better leader before He moves on your kids. He's already moving—orchestrating encounters, placing people, opening doors—because His commitment to them is based on His covenant, not your consistency.
