"If I give, I won't have enough left for my family's needs."
How it sounds in your head: You're a mother. Your kids need food, clothes, activities. If you give that money away, you're robbing your own children. God wouldn't want you to neglect your family to give to the church. Your first responsibility is to them. Providing for your household is biblical stewardship.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Source: Enemy twisting provision into either/or instead of both/and. Spirit of fear masquerading as maternal responsibility.
You're acutely aware of every expense your kids have. Dance class, groceries, new shoes because they grew again—it never stops. Giving feels like taking food off their table. You're responsible for their provision.
A widow with a son gave her last meal to the prophet instead of feeding her child, which looked like terrible mothering. The meal never ran out—her son ate daily for years from the miracle that started when she gave FIRST, even over her child's immediate need.
I REFUSE the lie that giving robs my family. IT IS WRITTEN that my God supplies ALL my need according to HIS riches, not my leftovers. The widow gave her last meal before feeding her son, and the barrel never emptied—her obedience FED her child, not starved him. I am under the BARAK blessing where Deuteronomy 28 promises blessing on my children, my basket, my storehouse. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous are never forsaken and their children never beg. My generosity doesn't compete with my family's provision—it activates it. I trust the God who multiplied five loaves to feed my household.
The Father isn't asking you to choose between Him and your kids—He GAVE you those kids, and He's more committed to their provision than you are. You're not robbing them when you tithe; you're teaching them that the Owner of everything is their Source, and He never runs out.
