"I won't have enough because my family has always struggled financially."
How it sounds in your head: You see your parents stress about money, hear the arguments, feel the lack. It's always been this way, for your parents and their parents. You believe poverty is your inheritance, baked into your DNA and your destiny.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."
-- Galatians 3:13-14Generational poverty curse claiming authority over bloodline, when Christ BROKE every curse at the cross and made you Abraham's seed.
Every generation in your family has struggled. The pattern seems unbreakable, like a genetic disease. The evidence is everywhere—no one in your family has ever retired wealthy.
She was a Moabite widow, triple-cursed (foreign, widowed, poverty), gleaning leftover grain to survive. One season of obedience and she married Boaz, became WEALTHY, and her great-grandson was KING DAVID—generational curse shattered in one generation.
I REFUSE the lie that my family's history determines my destiny. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ has redeemed me from the curse and brought the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM upon me. I am not defined by my parents' struggles; I am defined by my POSITION in Christ. The BARAK blessing is my covenant inheritance. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:29 'If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.' I am Abraham's seed. His wealth is my inheritance. Deuteronomy 28:11 says the Lord grants me ABUNDANT prosperity. The poverty pattern is BROKEN at the cross. I am a new creation, old things passed away, and my latter days will be GREATER than what came before. Generational blessing starts NOW, with ME.
The Father doesn't look at your family tree and sigh with disappointment. He looks at you grafted into CHRIST and sees Abraham's heir, royalty, blessed beyond measure—He's ready to break every poverty pattern in ONE encounter, like He did for Ruth.
