"I wasted years in an eating disorder and now my body will never be what it could have been."
How it sounds in your head: From 16 to 22 I abused my body—starving, purging, bingeing, over-exercising. My metabolism is destroyed. My hair won't grow back right. My teeth are damaged. My bones are weaker. I stole the years my body was supposed to develop and I can't undo that damage.
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is RENEWED like the eagle's."
-- Psalm 103:2-5Source: Enemy's permanent damage narrative—using the physical consequences of mental illness to convince you those years broke you irreparably.
The doctor's reports are real. The physical consequences are measurable. Your body bears the scars and the years of abuse feel like a debt your flesh will pay forever.
Naaman had leprosy—flesh rotting, skin destroyed, body deteriorating from years of disease. Seven dips in the Jordan and his flesh was RESTORED like the flesh of a LITTLE CHILD—not just healed, but BETTER than before.
I REFUSE the lie that eating disorder years permanently damaged my body. IT IS WRITTEN that God RENEWS my youth like the eagle's—not manages the damage, RENEWS. My metabolism, my hair, my teeth, my bones—ALL of it is under the BARAK blessing. I am blessed in my body. Jesus bore sickness so I could walk in health. IT IS WRITTEN by His stripes I AM healed—present tense, DONE. Those years weren't wasted; they're my TESTIMONY of the God who resurrects bodies. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and He's renovating with RESURRECTION POWER.
The Father doesn't see a broken body—He sees a daughter about to experience RENEWED youth, RESTORED health. He's not calculating damage; He's commanding RESTORATION like Naaman's skin becoming like a child's.
