"I wasted my inheritance and don't deserve another chance financially."
How it sounds in your head: You had resources—inheritance, insurance payout, retirement funds—and you squandered them. Poor investments, helping the wrong people, living beyond your means. You had your shot and blew it. God gave you provision and you wasted it. Why would He give more?
"But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate.'"
-- Luke 15:22-23Religious teaching that God's provision is limited and must be earned through faithful stewardship of previous resources.
You can point to specific money that came and went—inheritance that should have lasted, settlement that disappeared, retirement that didn't stretch. You HAD resources and they're gone. The prodigal parallel feels exact, except you're too old for comeback stories.
He demanded inheritance early, blew ALL of it on prostitutes and wild living, ended feeding pigs. Came home broke, smelling like pig manure, planning to beg for servant status. The father RAN to him, wouldn't even let him finish his speech, restored EVERYTHING—robe, ring, sandals, party—in approximately 15 minutes. From pig pen to party. From bankrupt to blessed. No waiting period.
I REFUSE the lie that wasting resources disqualifies me from the Father's restoration. IT IS WRITTEN that the prodigal squandered EVERYTHING and received instant, complete restoration—robe, ring, sandals, and celebration. My Father doesn't operate on 'three strikes you're out.' He operates on GRACE and COMPASSION. While I was wasting resources, He was preparing the fattened calf for my comeback. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed through Christ, and the BARAK blessing is mine by COVENANT, not by stewardship performance. The blessing protected liars, deceivers, and failures. I receive instant breakthrough NOW because my Father has been watching for me, ready to RUN with restoration the moment I turn toward Him. Age is irrelevant; His compassion is IMMEDIATE.
Your Father isn't reviewing your stewardship record and calculating whether you deserve another chance. He's been watching for your return, and the moment He sees you—even while you're still far off, still broke, still smelling like failure—He RUNS toward you with everything you need. The party is prepared. He's been waiting to celebrate your restoration, not punish your waste.
