Not Enough
"I wasn't a good enough father and now it's too late to fix it."

How it sounds in your head: You worked too much. Missed too many games, recitals, moments. You were emotionally unavailable—didn't know how to talk about feelings because your dad didn't either. You made mistakes, said harsh things, applied too much pressure or not enough. Now your kids are grown and the relationship is distant. The grandkids barely know you. You failed at the most important job and you can't get those years back.

Joel 2:25

"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."

-- Joel 2:25
Enemy whispers: You failed as a father and it's too late. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Joel 2:25—'I will RESTORE to you the years that the locust has eaten.' God doesn't just forgive the past—He RESTORES it. You're not under CONDEMNATION—Romans 8:1 says there is NO condemnation in Christ. The prodigal's father didn't require a 7-year restoration plan—he RAN to his son and threw a party in 15 MINUTES. God's restoration isn't limited by time or your mistakes.
Quick Truth: LIE: Failed as father, too late. TRUTH: God restores years the locust ate; no condemnation. Joel 2:25, Rom 8:1

Enemy condemnation contradicting Christ's finished work and the Father's heart of restoration beyond human timeline limitations.

Why this feels true:

The past is FIXED—you can't redo those years. Your adult children's struggles feel like evidence of your failures. The distance in the relationship feels permanent, and every parenting regret is amplified by irreversibility.

John 21:15-17
Peter

Peter denied Jesus THREE TIMES, catastrophically failing at the most critical moment, destroying his own identity as a disciple. Jesus didn't wait years for Peter to prove himself—He restored him IMMEDIATELY after resurrection with three questions by a fire, gave him the KEYS TO THE KINGDOM, and Peter became the foundation of the early church.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that my past parenting failures disqualify me from present relationship and future blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE the years the locust has eaten. There is NO CONDEMNATION in Christ Jesus—none for me, none for my children. IT IS WRITTEN that He makes all things new, and that includes broken relationships. I am not defined by what I failed to do—I am defined by whose I am. My children are under the BARAK blessing that protects generations. God can do more in one divine moment than I could accomplish in a lifetime of perfect parenting. Restoration starts NOW.

But God actually:

The Father isn't reviewing your parenting report card or comparing you to other dads. He's the One who specializes in bringing DEAD THINGS back to life—dead relationships, dead hopes, dead years. He's already at work in your children's hearts, and He's RUNNING toward you with assignments for THIS season that will release blessing into their lives in ways your past never could.
