"I was promoted beyond my competence years ago and just managed to avoid exposure until retirement."
How it sounds in your head: You hit your ceiling early and faked the rest. Every promotion after that was Peter Principle in action - you rose to your level of incompetence and somehow didn't get fired. You spent the last decade bluffing.
"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God."
-- 2 Corinthians 3:5Enemy accusation that interprets every challenge as evidence of inadequacy rather than normal growth edges.
You remember feeling stretched by every new role and interpret that discomfort as proof you weren't qualified. The voice says competent people don't struggle.
Moses said 'I'm not eloquent, I'm slow of speech' - incompetent for the assignment. God said 'Who made your mouth? Now go, I WILL BE WITH YOUR MOUTH and teach you what to say.' Competence came FROM God, not from Moses.
I REFUSE the lie that I was promoted beyond my competence. IT IS WRITTEN that my sufficiency is from God, not from myself. I wasn't supposed to be self-sufficient - I was designed to be God-dependent. Every challenge proved I was operating in HIS competence through me. IT IS WRITTEN that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Moses felt unqualified and God said 'I'll BE with your mouth.' The BARAK blessing covered every gap in my ability with His supply. I wasn't faking - I was flowing.
Father sees you like He saw Moses - feeling inadequate for the assignment, but that's exactly where God's power shows up strongest. Your dependence on Him was the point, not the problem.
