"I threw away my peak years and missed my prime."
How it sounds in your head: I'm 28. Athletes retire at 30. Your best physical years are 18-25. I wasted mine—out of shape, directionless, no discipline. Other guys built their foundation when they were young and strong. Now my metabolism is slowing, my hairline is receding, and I missed the window.
"The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says the Lord of hosts."
-- Haggai 2:9World system lie that youth equals value and that physical prime determines life success.
Your body doesn't respond like it did at 20. Recovery takes longer. The six-pack is harder. Society worships youth—athletes, actors, entrepreneurs—all celebrated for being young. You feel like you missed the draft and now you're too old for the league.
Caleb was 85 years old when he said, 'I am as strong this day as on the day Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength.' He asked for the MOUNTAIN with GIANTS on it—and TOOK IT. His latter years were MORE victorious than his youth.
I REFUSE the lie that I threw away my peak years and missed my prime. IT IS WRITTEN in Haggai 2:9 that the glory of my LATTER house shall be GREATER than the former. My best days are NOT behind me—they are NOW and AHEAD. IT IS WRITTEN that God renews my youth like the eagle's. I am under the BARAK blessing—the same blessing that made Abraham fruitful at 100 and kept Moses strong at 120. My strength, clarity, favor, and anointing are INCREASING, not decreasing. What's coming in my late twenties and beyond will ECLIPSE anything my early twenties could have produced. My PRIME is NOW.
Your Father isn't mourning your past years—He's CELEBRATING what He's about to unleash NOW. Like the father who threw the party for the prodigal's RETURN, not his departure, God is throwing the party for your ARRIVAL at this moment, fully convinced your greatest victories are ahead.
