"I taught occult practices to others—I'm responsible for their spiritual destruction too."
How it sounds in your head: It's one thing to be deceived yourself. It's another to deceive others. I led people into darkness. Their blood is on my hands. I can be forgiven, but I can't undo the damage I caused to others.
"Although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus."
-- 1 Timothy 1:13-14Source: enemy - Accusation that you bear permanent guilt for others' spiritual choices.
You taught, mentored, or influenced others into occult practices. You feel responsible for their spiritual condition and fear irreversible consequences.
Paul didn't just practice darkness—he actively led others to reject Christ, presided over Stephen's stoning, dragged believers to prison, and caused many to blaspheme. Jesus appeared to him, and he was INSTANTLY transformed into an apostle with no period of proving himself or making amends.
I REFUSE the lie that I bear permanent guilt for teaching occult practices. IT IS WRITTEN that God's grace toward me is exceedingly abundant, just as it was for Paul who led others to destruction. I cannot undo the past, but I am not responsible for others' choices. IT IS WRITTEN that the blood of Jesus cleanses from ALL sin—including the sin of leading others astray. I am not defined by who I was—I am defined by who Christ is in me. I am forgiven, free, and used for His glory now.
The Father doesn't keep a ledger of people you influenced badly. He sees you like He saw Paul—instantly forgiven, immediately useful, with a past completely covered and a future full of redemptive purpose.
