"I should have seen it coming—I was stupid to trust them."
How it sounds in your head: You've lived long enough to know better. You let your guard down and got burned—that's on you. Smart men don't get betrayed; only fools trust the wrong people. You should be wiser at your age.
"He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered."
-- Proverbs 28:26Religion/world—blaming yourself for another's sin and believing wisdom means suspicion instead of faith.
Hindsight shows warning signs you missed, and decades of life experience feel wasted if you couldn't prevent this. Men are supposed to be wise protectors, not victims.
God commanded Hosea to marry Gomer, a prostitute who would betray him repeatedly—Hosea obeyed, knowing betrayal was coming. God called this obedience, not stupidity, and used it to display covenant love—Hosea's trust in God's direction was righteousness, and God vindicated him completely.
I REFUSE the lie that trusting made me foolish or that I should have known better. IT IS WRITTEN that whoever walks wisely will be delivered, and wisdom is trusting God's heart, not my suspicion. Jesus trusted Judas KNOWING betrayal was coming—my trust was RIGHTEOUSNESS, not stupidity. I am covered by the BARAK blessing of Abraham—no weapon formed against me prospers. IT IS WRITTEN that God delivers the righteous. I am a WARRIOR who chooses faith over fear, and the Father vindicates those who honor others even when betrayed. Their betrayal reveals THEIR heart, not my foolishness.
The Father is NOT shaking His head at your trust—He's CELEBRATING it like He celebrated Hosea's obedience to marry Gomer. Your willingness to trust despite risk reflects His own heart, and He's running to vindicate you and restore what the betrayer stole, not because you earned it but because betrayal never diminishes covenant sons.
