"I should have listened to the warnings - I'm reaping what I sowed through foolishness."
How it sounds in your head: The signs were there. The experts warned about overvaluation. Your buddy tried to tell you to diversify. But you didn't listen because you thought you knew better. Now you're paying the price for your arrogance and stupidity. You sowed foolishness and you're reaping poverty. That's just how God's law works.
"Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants."
-- Genesis 26:12-14Religious karma theology that makes consequences punishment from God and portrays Father as enforcer of sowing/reaping rather than gracious redeemer.
There WERE warning signs you ignored, decisions you made that turned out wrong, and the losses followed those decisions in clear cause-and-effect sequence. It looks exactly like reaping what you sowed.
Isaac lied to King Abimelech, claiming his wife Rebekah was his sister to protect himself - the exact deceptive pattern his father used. Instead of punishment, Isaac sowed seed and reaped HUNDREDFOLD return in the same year, becoming so wealthy with flocks, herds, and servants that the Philistines envied him and the king asked him to leave.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm reaping poverty because I sowed foolish decisions. IT IS WRITTEN that Isaac reaped HUNDREDFOLD blessing right after lying to a king - the BARAK covenant blessing isn't stopped by mistakes. I am NOT under the law of karma and consequences - I am under GRACE. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law, which includes reaping negative consequences. I sow into covenant ground where mistakes are covered by blood and harvest is determined by GRACE not performance. I declare hundredfold return on every seed sown, every investment made, every decision attempted - supernatural multiplication flowing from covenant love, not earned through flawless execution.
The Father isn't tallying your investment mistakes as seeds that must produce poverty harvests - He's the God who gave HUNDREDFOLD return to Isaac the LIAR because covenant trumps behavior. Your harvest is determined by Jesus' perfect performance, not your flawed decisions, and His sowing produces GRACE abundance.
