"I sabotage every friendship. There's something broken in me that pushes people away."
How it sounds in your head: You get too clingy or too distant. You overshare or you're too guarded. You mess up the timing, say the wrong thing, need too much. It's your fault friendships fail.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Religious shame teaching that your brokenness disqualifies you, combined with trauma patterns the enemy weaponizes as identity.
You've seen the pattern—friendships start great then implode, and you can trace it back to something you did or didn't do. The common denominator is you.
Peter didn't just fail once—he DENIED Jesus three times after swearing he'd die first, then went back to his old fishing life like nothing happened. Jesus didn't bring a restoration process; He brought breakfast and INSTANT reinstatement: 'Feed my sheep.' Assignment before apology tour.
I REFUSE the lie that I sabotage friendships because I'm broken. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a new creation—the old is GONE, the new HAS COME. Not becoming, not improving—NEW. My past patterns died with Christ. I don't carry brokenness; I carry resurrection life. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 that there is NO CONDEMNATION for me in Christ. The BARAK blessing over Abraham the liar, Jacob the deceiver, and Judah the mess covers me completely. My relationships aren't cursed by my failures; they're blessed by my Father's faithfulness.
Your Father doesn't see you as the saboteur—He sees you as the daughter He's rebuilding into a safe place for others. He's not waiting for you to stop messing up; He's already declared you a new creation and is bringing people who see what He sees.
