"I need to undergo hours of deliverance prayer and fasting before I can be free."
How it sounds in your head: The deliverance minister said this will take multiple sessions, maybe weeks of fasting, deep soul-searching to find every open door. At my age with my health issues, I can't fast like I used to. Does that mean I'll never be free?
"And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, 'I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.' And he came out that very hour."
-- Acts 16:18Source: religious teaching that creates complicated deliverance formulas, implying freedom requires extended process and human facilitation rather than instant authority in Jesus' name.
The elaborate multi-session deliverance plan sounds thorough and spiritual, and her inability to fast due to medications and health makes her feel disqualified from freedom.
A mother asked Jesus to free her demon-possessed daughter. Jesus spoke the word from a DISTANCE - didn't even see the girl, no laying on of hands, no fasting, no session. The woman went home and found her daughter instantly freed.
I REFUSE the lie that I need weeks of deliverance sessions or fasting I cannot do. IT IS WRITTEN that Paul commanded a demon to leave in Jesus' name and it left THAT VERY HOUR. The authority is in the NAME, not the process. I have the same name, the same blood, the same authority. My health limitations don't limit God's power. IT IS WRITTEN that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I command every oppressive spirit to leave NOW in Jesus' name, and I receive instant freedom as my covenant right through the blood.
The Father isn't requiring you to complete a deliverance program you can't physically handle - He's given you direct access to freedom through one name: JESUS. He's running toward you with the truth that your medication list doesn't disqualify you; His blood still works instantly.
