"I need to fix myself before God can use me"
How it sounds in your head: I've got anger issues, I'm insecure, I compare myself constantly. Once I get these under control, THEN maybe God could do something with me. Right now I'm too much of a mess.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Source: Religion teaching that God uses the 'ready' instead of the WILLING, making you a project before a son
Youth leaders highlight the 'together' kids for leadership roles while you're still figuring out who you are. It feels like there's a maturity threshold you haven't crossed yet.
God called Gideon 'mighty warrior' while he was hiding in a winepress, afraid and full of doubt, from the weakest clan. God used him IMMEDIATELY to defeat an army—no self-improvement plan, no confidence-building retreat, just 'GO in this might of YOURS.'
I REFUSE the lie that I must fix myself before God can use me. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness, not in my improvement. God doesn't call the qualified—He QUALIFIES the called, and He's calling me RIGHT NOW, mess and all. I am not a project waiting for completion; I am a SON already positioned for purpose. IT IS WRITTEN that God chose the foolish things to shame the wise, which means my insecurity is the PERFECT stage for His glory. I am a BRANCH in the VINE—I don't produce fruit by fixing myself, I produce it by STAYING CONNECTED. The BARAK blessing flows through me NOW, not later.
The Father is calling you 'mighty warrior' while you're still hiding in insecurity, just like He did Gideon. He's not waiting for you to feel ready—He's ready to show Himself strong THROUGH your weakness this very moment.
