"I need to accept that childlessness is God's will and stop hoping for a miracle."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I'm being stubborn. Maybe God's answer is 'no' and I need to submit to His plan. People keep telling me to 'let go and let God' and accept this as my cross to bear. Maybe faith means stopping the treatments and surrendering to childlessness.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
-- Hebrews 11:1Religious passivity disguised as surrender, teaching that acceptance of lack equals faith instead of aggressive expectation of covenant promises.
The weariness of hoping month after month makes resignation feel like peace. Well-meaning Christians frame acceptance as spiritual maturity and continued hope as stubborn resistance to God's 'no.'
Abraham was 100 years old with a dead body and Sarah's dead womb - every natural evidence said 'impossible.' He didn't accept impossibility as God's will - he 'contrary to hope, in hope believed' and didn't waver in UNBELIEF but was STRENGTHENED in faith, giving glory to God.
I REFUSE the lie that surrender means accepting lack. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Faith is the substance of things hoped for.' I do not surrender HOPE, I sustain it with faith. Abraham hoped AGAINST hope and received Isaac at 100. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.' I am not stubborn, I am FAITHFUL to the promise. God makes the barren woman a joyful mother - I receive this as COVENANT, not maybe.
The Father isn't asking you to accept 'no' and move on - He's the God who told Abraham to name his son Isaac (laughter) BEFORE conception because the promise was that certain. He's not waiting for you to give up; He's waiting for you to take up the promise that's already yours by covenant.
