"I must not have enough faith or God would have answered by now."
How it sounds in your head: You've heard the sermons—'if you had faith like a mustard seed.' Maybe your faith is defective. Maybe you don't believe hard enough. Those people who get miracles must have stronger faith than you.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Religion turned faith into a WORK you perform instead of a GIFT you receive, making unanswered prayer evidence of your spiritual inadequacy.
When others share testimony after testimony and your prayer list hasn't changed in years, the only variable seems to be the quality of your faith.
Paralyzed servant at home, suffering terribly, completely unconscious of Jesus or the conversation. The SERVANT had zero faith, zero knowledge, zero participation—yet was healed 'that very hour' based on another's request.
I REFUSE the lie that the quality of my faith determines God's response. IT IS WRITTEN: a father with unbelief got his son healed; Thomas doubted and still saw Jesus. Faith is God's GIFT, not my work. The centurion's servant was unconscious—had NO faith—and was healed instantly. IT IS WRITTEN: it's not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit. My breakthrough doesn't rest on how hard I believe; it rests on what Christ FINISHED. I am righteous by HIS faith, not mine. My doubts don't move me out of covenant.
Your Father isn't measuring your faith with a spiritual thermometer, waiting for it to hit the right temperature before He moves—He responds to the faith OF Jesus, which is perfect, and you're in Him. Your doubts are honest; His finished work is final.
